The words we speak are so powerful that we actually SPEAK things into our own lives and into the lives of others.   God tells us this is so! 

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Proverbs 12:18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

James 3:6  And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.

Job 6:24-25  ²⁴ “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue; Cause me to understand wherein I have erred. ²⁵ How forceful are right words!But what does your arguing prove?

Sadly, most of us do not know that we will be held accountable for every word.

Matthew 12:36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,

So, when things are going wrong, call the devil the liar that he is and speak life instead of death. When others are down, lift them up.

Remember that the flesh, along with the rest of the physical world, is only a small portion of our reality. It is the battle ground in which spiritual forces wrestle to keep us from God, our provider. Since Satan has already lost and knows where he will be going, he wants to take as many of God's children with him as he possibly can.

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against [a]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

This battle was won over 2000 years ago, but most are not aware of that. The deceiver and his agents want you to believe that the battle still rages, that you are losing. But, walk in Victory instead, for God has already won this battle.

Romans 8:37-39³⁷ But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rest on God's promises. He want so many things for you.

Jeremiah 9:11I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope

The deceiver wants you distracted from God's love. But Satan is the father of lies. 

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks ^[a]a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of ^[b]lies.

Instead, walk in God's promises and speak them into your life and that of others.  Then the evil one and all his agents will flee as you use the authority God gave you, In Jesus' Name.  

The deceiver would have us believe that we are not important. Think of all the negative thoughts people think about themselves and others. These thoughts all come from the accuser, the evil one, the prince of all lies. Don't be deceived. God is our Father. He loves us. Thus, We are children of God. 

Galatians 3:26-29²⁶ For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.²⁷ For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. ²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The Israelites worshipped idols, and God's wrath is kindled in Sheol (the realm of the dead).

 Did Jesus Go down to hell after he died on the cross, before he rose on the 3rd day.  His body, as all four Gospels agree, was in Joseph’s new tomb; His soul, according to Acts 2: 27, 31 (with Psalm 16:10), was in Hell (Greek = Hades; Hebrew = Sheol), a place or rather state, the significance of which in the Scriptures is much wider than in our present-day usage of that word.

How could God let this happen?

Before going into the subject at hand, let me please offer some comfort.
 

Our physical world on Earth is a temporary place for our eternal spirits. All of those who died at the school shooting in Connecticut still exist. They are not dead, they are living. Their physical bodies are dead. God loves the children; they are with Jesus now. Jesus' main sadness right now is the mourning of all those who lost a loved one in this tragedy.
 

As for those who died all of their tears and worries are gone. They are not thinking about the things that just transpired on Earth, they are enjoying the peace of Heaven and the overwhelming love they feel.  They are in an unbelievably better place; words cannot express how wonderful their lives are now with Jesus.  And since I am merely human, I can only guess at the wonders they are seeing and feeling.
 

Someday, I will be there, too. But I will be so overwhelmed by the love and peace, that all the things on Earth will be meaningless in comparison.

 

Mark 10:14(NIV) 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

No, Not the children, why the children....

In my mind, the most horriffic thing that could ever happen, happened.  How could anyone ever take their rage or revenge out on a school of unsuspecting children?  They cannot defend themselves against such things.  Imagine what must be going through the minds of those children that survived after seeing their classmates, teacher, and possibly others shot. 

 

The big question floating around:   

How could God let this happen?  

This always seems to be the question asked when tragic things happen.  But I have a question.  Are we asking God to take control of everything?   God provides all the good things that come to us, and the bad things some from the sources of evil that go against God.  God takes control of what we give Him control of.  If we give him control of our finances, that means we seek his instruction on how to manage them.  And then we ask Him to help us do what is required.   If we give him control of our behavior, that means we seek his instruction on how to act, and then we ask Him to help us to do what is required.  

James 1:5 NIV
⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

God wants us to love him out of Genuine love.  He doesn't want puppets or robots to bark out bible verses and follow a bunch of rules.  So He gives us the choice to follow Him.   He doesn't put strings on us and force us to think the way He wants us to think and do what He wants us to do. 

Romans 12:9-13 NIV

Love in Action

⁹ Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. ¹⁰ Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. ¹¹ Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. ¹² Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. ¹³ Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

So because people have this choice, they also have the choice to do the opposite of what God wants.  And EVERY TIME that someone does the opposite of what God wants, someone suffers.  So, to ask why God allows bad things is that same as asking why God lets people sin.  It is said in many places in the bible that Satan is the God of this world.  What that ultimately means is the many follow the ways of Satan instead of the ways of God.  Is does not mean that Satan is in control of everything.   By not following God's agenda, we follow the agenda of Satan, whether inadvertant or otherwise.

In the overall picture, God is in control of everything.  No one and nothing can thwart the ultimate plan of God. 

Proverbs 19:21 NIV
²¹ Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

In our current world, there is Good and there is Bad.  It is just the way it is.  That will not be the case when we meet our Lord in Heaven.  Good and Bad will be separated.  God will keep all that is Good in Heaven, and the remainder will be left to those who chose not to follow.  So sad it is that many will have opted to follow the bad not realizing that in not following God, they were inadvertently following His adversary.  And in doing so, if they don't wake up before they pass from this physical world, they will follow this adversary in the spiritual world also.

But God helps us get through the bad as He uses all of it for our good.

Romans 8:28 NIV

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For a final word, our world has been created to be a very self-centered world.  Each member of the family had intended roles, and these are all outlined in the bible.  These roles were for very specific purposes.  The father was to work to provide for the family, which is a lot of work.  The mother was to provide in the home, which is a lot of work.  Our roles are very confused now, and raising our children is harder than ever because of this dysfunctionality.  No one has time now to take care of the things of the home.  And the economy has forced us to continue living this way.  One of the reasons is because material possessions are far more important the best upbringing for our children.  There is no easy way out of this mess we have created in our family structures and in the reciprocal effects on our economy.  Structured, consistent, and loving upbringing of our children is the best way to combat such social disorders contained in the psychopaths in our current reality.

Additionally, our bodies were created perfectly.  Chemicals in our foods, household items, immunizations, medicines, etc are causing adverse effects on our bodies and mentality.  There are very little vitamans and minerals in our diet, which are required for both physical and mental health.  These things are also causing disorders in our children.  Food intended for our physical bodies is also directly outlined in the bible.  But again given our current society, it is next to impossible to provide natural "good for you" food for our children.

How can we not expect problems since we have deviated so far from Gods instructions for us?  Seek first the Kingdom of God, and EVERYTHING WE NEED will be provided for us.   And God even adds some of the things we want to that.  What God gives us is far better than we could ever ask for, if we wait for him to give it to us.

The best recipe for raising healthy children: structure, a well-balanced diet, well-balanced exercise and rest, sufficient love and acceptance, and the lack of severe stress. In other words, a fully-functional, working-together family and of course FAITH IN GOD.

Where do we go when we die (part 2)

Definitions

First, lets define a few words. Unfortunately, even these definitions vary depending on what version of the bible you are using, what denomination you follow, etc. It is best to refer to the Original Hebrew or Aramaic for the Old Testament, and the Original Greek for the New Testament. Regarding denominational beliefs, Jesus is the only denomination we need to worry about. Pray to the Father as HE said HE would teach us all things. Ask him to open up the scriptures to you; as I am doing now.

 

Earth - a temporary living space for our physical bodies. Not to get too technical on you, but Quantum physics has proven that more than 90% of the universe is UNSEEN by our human eyes. They have identified 10 dimensions, movies just expounded on that and people are now tuning out the reality of this. Additionally, Physical Science has always proven that our world is not what it appears. What looks and feels solid to us, is actually atoms connected together. So our physical world is only a smaller reality that the actual reality. More on the Science of God and Heaven in another blog. Time is not a constant thing. Time changes at different altitudes. It speeds up the higher they altitudes, so it is a physical property that is alloted to us on earth. Those in the spiritual are not bound by the physical. God and Eternity are outside of our properties of time and space.

 

Grave - where the physical body is placed.

 

Heaven - the final resting place of those who accepted God's Gift of substitutionary punishment (atonement... See note at the bottom of this posting on what this means). The bible speaks of 3 heavens because that follows the beliefs that Jewish people had:

 

· 1st Heaven - the atmosphere (Deuteronomy 11:17; 28:12; Judges 5:4; Acts 14:17).

· 2nd Heaven - the sky or outer space (Psalm 19:4,6; Jeremiah 8:2; Isaiah 13:10).

· 3rd Heaven - the eternal abode of God (1 Kings 8:30; Psalm 2:4; Matthew 5:16).

The heaven we are referring to here in this posting is the 3rd Heaven.

 

Paradise - some people say this is synonymous with Heaven. Some people think that this is a temporary place, for the soul of a christian who is going to heaven, until the judgement and resurrection of the dead. We will explore both.

 

Hades - The Greek "Equivalent" of Sheol. This is not the grave, the grave is in the physical world. Departed spirits go here. Some people say this is synonymous with Hell. Some people think that this is a temporary place, for the soul of anyone who did not accept the Gift of God and is going to hell, until the judgement and resurrection of the dead. We will explore both. Hades appears to GeoCentric (for another study and explanation at another time).

 

Sheol - the Hebrew "equivalent" of Hades. (There are some variances between Greek and Hebrew, which can spin off into a very technical long explanation, so for now, it is easier to say they are equivalent because they are in many respects).

 

Gehenna - the final disposition, "the outer darkness". Equivalent to Hell. We will define this more.

 

Hell - Some use this word as a synonym for Hades or Sheol, or even "the grave". Some use it as synonymous with the Lake of Fire. We will explore both.

 

Lake of Fire - the final, final resting place of all who did not follow God in their life. This includes those who ignored God's Gift of substitutionary punishment; all the angels who rejected HIS way and Lucifer (Satan, the devil) who wanted his OWN way. Death, Hell and Hades are thrown into the lake of fire in Revelation.
